David Choy –
Last summer I scored a used Hiwatt DG103 with dreams of making my own Pink Floyd rig. I looked for Fanes and the aftermarket to see what to pair the head with. I was turned on to Hi-Tone from a post on TGP and checked them out. There isn’t anyone else on the market that comes even remotely close to offering a repro cabinet and speaker so this was the only option I could find. At first I chocked on the price. How much for a 1×12?! But now that I’ve owned it this long I feel I can accurately comment. IT. HAS. “THAT”. TONE!!! I have been studying the guitar for 30 years and my Hiwatt and this cabinet are two of the top three, finest musical instruments I have ever owned or had the privilege of playing through. There is hardly a time when I finish playing a session and don’t walk away stunned at the profound tone that comes out of this cab. I’ve had it several months now and have been adding pedals to the rig. It just keeps getting better and better. It doesn’t just make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, it feeds your soul. It’s that good. Run a boost into a fuzz into and the magic I was looking for becomes a reality. Everyday. I can do that every day now! Wow! It isn’t a one trick pony either, it can do anything superbly. Man it is a hot blues cab too! It just cooks and sizzles. It’s just simply the best tone I have ever experienced outside of a Pink Floyd show! Thanks Hi-Tone! I couldn’t have done it without you.
