Chris Hinson –
David Gilmour has been my guitar hero since I was a teenager. I have been playing guitar for 40 years and have owned pretty much every make of amp. I’ve been playing in a Pink Floyd tribute band (Interstellar Echoes, https://www.facebook.com/interstellarechoes) for the past couple of years and was getting satisfactory tones from my Axe Fx rig, but was looking to get back to my roots and play a cranked tube amp again. I started researching vintage Hiwatt amps and went on the hunt for one. I also began seeing the Hi-tone name mentioned in discussions of Hiwatt amps and decided to explore this avenue. Long story short I reached out to Clayton and purchased a DG50 head and the newly released Eclipse 4×12 cabinet. I could not have made a better choice. This amp is THE amp for nailing Gilmour’s tones. My fuzz pedals sound fat and warm and yet still cut through the mix. I was initially worried about the fidelity of my delay pedals running in front of the amp rather than through an effects loop, but the DG50 has so much headroom that this is simply not an issue and my delay pedals sound great! The DG50 has the most gorgeous clean tone I’ve ever heard and would be at home in pretty much any musical situation. It is the ultimate pedal platform. Combined with my various drive, fuzz and modulation pedals I’m getting some of the best tones I’ve ever achieved. I’m so glad I took the leap and made this purchase! Do yourself a favor, give Clayton a call and check out Hi-Tone’s products. Truly a great company that is delivering a very high quality product for those of us obsessed with great guitar tone.

My name is Lee Harris and I play guitar in Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets and used this set up for 165 shows. It performed highly and consistently for every show whether it was being freighted across the world thru snow or unbearable heat.
Everything about this amp is quality whether it be the sound or the complete customer care afforded to you.
I would expect if you are here you are looking for ‘that’ sound and urge you to look no further!
